Appraisal Report Styles

All real estate appraisals in the United States are reported as either a Narrative (Comprehensive) or Form (Summary) format. This is the case for both residential and commercial properties.

Some appraisers and users of appraisal reports use different names for the report types. Colorado Appraisal Consultants is moving towards calling the former “narrative appraisal report” a “comprehensive appraisal report” and calling the former “form appraisal report” a “summary appraisal report”.

Form (Summary) Reports
